Stage 1: Just Starting at Humber

Just Starting at Humber
At this stage, you are discovering your academic and career direction. You will start to gain an awareness of your personal interests, the opportunities available to you and the resources to help you meet your goals.

Discover Your Direction

  • Research new opportunities through Career Cruising that challenge you and match your interests, which you assessed through Type Focus
Explore around you
  • Familiarize yourself with all of the student services available to support you during your time at Humber
  • Reach out to Academic Advising & Support Services to find Peer Tutors, Math and Writing Help, and Advising
  • Recognize your support network (friends, family, professors, classmates, staff and colleagues) as a source of knowledge about school, life and careers
  • Attend career events including job fairs and networking sessions throughout the year
  • If you are not sure if your current program is for you, talk to a Career & Student Success Advisor to evaluate your interests and explore new pathways
