Virtual Proctoring - Examity

About Examity

What is Examity?

Examity is an online authentication and proctoring service integrated into Blackboard which helps to increase the efficiency, security, and convenience of online testing. Examity's proprietary technology secures exams, verifies student identities, and prevents cheating. And, best-in-class proctors and auditing of every exam ensure a high level of accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Virtual Proctoring and Blackboard

Students will access the virtual proctoring experience through Blackboard by clicking the Examity link in their courses. This link will directly connect approved students to the Examity dashboard where they will be asked to set up an Examity profile and schedule their exam. For faculty, the Examity link will automatically port over your Blackboard exam settings including date/time settings, length of time and the password to the Examity dashboard.

Virtual proctoring services have a fee, ranging from $60 to $80 depending on length of exam. For exams that are under 2 hours to a total of 2 hours, the fee would be $60.00. If the exam is over two up to 3 hours it will be $80.00. Students are required to pay for this service before writing their final exam, so please make sure you have the accurate time in Blackboard.

To save information entered in the "Special Instructions" box, click "Save" before hitting "update." Proctor support will read your notes prior to the exam and make sure all students adhere to them.

  2. You can watch videos of your students taking their exams by clicking the blue "View" link. If the "View" link is not clickable, that means the exam has not yet been audited. All exams will be audited within 48 hours of the student completing the exam.
Recordings are made available for 30 days and then removed from Examity system!
  3. The Examity flagging system provides instructors with a snapshot of what happened during each exam.
