Students follow the production of fabric from fibre through finishing. With the use of fabric samples, students will analyze, appraise and compare different fabrics through fibres, yarns, construction and finishes, dyes and printing. Students also research the manufacturing process in relation to fabric, fit and technology as well as the laws that regulate textiles. Students will compare and contrast different fabrics to deduce best solutions for end use and be able to explain what factors make a successful fabric in the marketplace
