Technology is everywhere - so much so that it can be difficult to notice its scope and influence on our lives. In order to both meet the challenges and reap the benefits of technological advancement, it is essential to investigate the connection of ever-expanding technology to ourselves and to our culture. This course examines the intimate relationship between technology and human values, particularly in how this affects our understanding of the natural world and human identity. In this course, we will examine issues such as: social media, the internet, genetic enhancement, cyborgs, and critiques of technology. No background in science is needed for this course.
