Community Conversations: Transforming Awareness into Action

The Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB) is excited to continue our Community Conversations series, offering an open and inclusive space to connect, share, and foster a stronger campus community. These conversations provide the opportunity to discuss meaningful topics and explore how we can collectively make Humber Polytechnic more inclusive for all.

Through facilitated discussions, we will engage in thoughtful conversations that reflect our shared values of respect, collaboration, and community. Whether you are a student, staff, or faculty member, your voice is important in shaping the future of EDIB at Humber. Together, we can learn, grow, and build connections!

Our next Community Conversation, “Transforming Awareness into Action: Bringing Trans Allyship to Life in the Workplace,” focuses on moving from understanding to action in supporting our trans community members. Hosted by the Office of EDIB in partnership with The 519 Team, this event will highlight the significance of the Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) and the importance of dedicated allyship within our community and beyond.

Join us to:

  • Learn about the history and relevance of TDOR and other days of significance for trans communities.

  • Understand how to recognize and address transphobia and cissexism in workplace settings.

  • Leave with practical strategies for trans-affirming allyship, equipping you to be a positive force for change.
