Applications

Any research involving human participants conducted at Humber or undertaken by Humber professors, administrators or students must be reviewed and approved by the Humber Research Ethics Board. Applications for review should be submitted to the SREB using the appropriate guidelines and forms.

 

The Humber REB usually meets the third Thursday of every month.  All applications must be complete and submitted to reb@humber.ca by the first Monday of each month in order to be reviewed at that month’s meeting.  The Humber REB does not meet in July and August.

 

Application Process for Research Projects Involving Human Participants

 

  1. Review the Humber Policy on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans
  2. Complete the Humber REB Application Form and attach all required supporting documentation
  3. Review the entire application package to verify completeness
  4. Submit a single PDF copy of the application, including all necessary signatures, via email to reb@humber.ca (see below for instructions on how to save and combine PDF files)

 

Multi-College Expert Panel Ethics Review Process

Applicants conducting minimum-risk research at multiple colleges in Ontario are eligible to apply for a letter of recommendation from the Multi-College Expert Panel to streamline the ethics approval process.  More information about the Multi-College Expert Panel review process can be found here.

 

Application Process to Amend an Approved Ethics Protocol

 

  1. Complete the appropriate form (REB Protocol Change Request Form for projects; REB Course Designation Amendment Request Form or REB Course Designation Continuation Request Form for courses) and attach all required supporting documentation.
  2. Review the application form and attachments to verify completeness
  3. Submit a single PDF copy of the form, including all necessary signatures and attachments, via email to reb@humber.ca (see below for instructions on how to save and combine PDF files)

 

Study Renewal and Completion Instructions
