Part-Time Teachers’ Conference 2018

It's Open: Moving Forward Open Education, Open Pedagory & Open Practice

Open Education is not a revolutionary idea. “It’s an evolution and return to the core values of the academy - sharing knowledge freely for the benefit of society.” (Mackintosh, 2017).
eCampusOntario has embarked on a path to openness for Ontario higher education, offering a library of free and open instructional resources that will support an access and affordability scenario for learners, and an empowerment strategy for instructors. David Porter will describe the research and development path that eCampusOntario is currently pursuing on behalf of member institutions, and how you can benefit from the work.

Keynote Speaker: David Porter

Dr. David Porter is the CEO of eCampusOntario, the primary face of the Ontario Online Learning Consortium (OOLC), a not-for-profit corporation whose membership is composed of all publicly funded colleges and universities in Ontario.
David is a long-time advocate for the benefits of adapting new technology to deliver educational opportunities, and has been involved in open and distance learning since the 1990s, at both the K-12 and higher education levels.
