Humber College and University of Guelph-Humber students from any campus, year, or program are invited to get involved with the Humber Arboretum's Learning by Leading™ program by applying for a service learning experience as an Arboretum Ambassador or an Arboretum Creative. Both groups will get together to learn about the Humber Arboretum and local ecology, then work with their group to help share their knowledge either through face-to-face outreach and hands-on stewardship (the Ambassadors) or the creation of art and media projects (the Creatives).

Please note, to participate in either program in 2019/20 you must be available in the fall semester to meet on Fridays from noon to 1 p.m. The info sessions are for interested students to learn more about the two programs, meet the staff and leaders, ask questions, and decide which option suits you best. You do not need to attend an info session to apply.

  • Info Session 1: Friday, September 6, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Info Session 2: Friday, September 13, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Where: Both sessions will take place inside the Centre for Urban Ecology on the grounds of the Humber Arboretum. The Humber Arboretum is found at the back of Humber College North Campus; the main entrance is past the residence buildings, across from the Parking Lot 1 exit. The Centre for Urban Ecology is the glass building with the red door at the top of the path.

Registration for the info sessions is not required, but you are welcome to RSVP to help us plan and to ensure you receive any updates or follow-up information.
