TORONTO, ONTARIO –  Humber College has endorsed the federal government’s new Dimensions: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Canada. The Dimensions Charter seeks to address systemic barriers in postsecondary education and research, particularly those experienced by members of underrepresented or disadvantaged groups, including but not limited to, women, Indigenous peoples, - persons with disabilities, members of visible minority/racialized groups and members of the LGBTQ2+ communities.

Today, the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, will join Chris Whitaker, Humber’s President & CEO, Nancy Simms, Humber’s Director, Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Diversity and John Walsh, Vice-Provost, the University of Guelph-Humber to sign the Dimensions Charter.

“Equity, diversity and inclusion are integral and critical elements of Humber’s strategic plan and academic mission,” said Nancy Simms, Director, Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Diversity. “By endorsing the program’s Charter and eight principles, we are further reinforcing our already strong commitment to these core values.”
