Ceejay Nofuente is the first person to be named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Female Athlete of the Year consecutively. In 2016, she led the women's basketball team to its first-ever national championship title.
For the 2016-17 season, she earned repeated wins as OCAA Player of the Year and OCAA Championship MVP in women's basketball, as well as Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Year and All-Canadian.
Now, the decorated basketball player and sport management student is among 18 hopefuls invited to try out for the women's national team.
The tryouts and training camp run from July 29 to August 8. On August 9, the team will leave for Tokyo to compete at the U24 Women Basketball League Four Nations 2017, where they will face off against Japan, the United States and Australia. Following this tournament, the team will then travel to Taipei City, Taiwan to compete at the Taipei 2017 29th Summer Universiade.
