There were cheers, smiles and many a selfie as the first groups - of 10,000 to graduate this spring - crossed the stage at the Toronto Congress Centre Tuesday.

Students from the schools of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism, Social and Community Services, and Creative and Performing Arts became part of the large Humber Alumni family.

Receiving honorary degrees were Don Montgomery, Andy MacDonald and Mark Rowswell “Dashan.”

Rachel McTier from Fitness and Health Promotion, Stef Figueiredo from Bachelor of Child and Youth Care and Andrew Annis from Acting for Film and Television received the President’s Medal for academic performance and involvement in college life.

The Board of Governors Achievement Award, given to one student in each academic school, was presented to Zandile Uzoalu from Tourism - Travel Services Management, Renee Foessel from Bachelor of Social Science - Criminal Justice and Odum Abekah from Bachelor of Music (Bass).
