Humber will soon be training the next generation of Ontario’s real estate salespersons and brokers.
An estimated 12,000 aspiring real estate professionals are expected to take 55,000 courses annually, as the college is partnering with the Real Estate Council of Ontario and NIIT Canada to provide new salesperson and broker education programs.
All real estate salespersons and brokers in Ontario are required to take and pass these courses, which are currently administered by the Ontario Real Estate Association, in order to practice in the province.
Beginning July 1, 2019, courses will be available in class, in real-time virtual classrooms, and through self-paced e-learning modules. While Humber will exclusively deliver the courses, the college will work with NIIT Canada, a company that specializes in curriculum development and design, to shape program materials and content.
“Humber has a strong industry reputation for credential testing and delivery of professional designation programs,” says Alister Mathieson, Humber’s vice-president of Advancement and External Affairs. “Further, Humber is closely connected with our local and provincial communities, and the opportunity to deliver specialized education and skills to real estate salespersons and brokers will contribute to Ontario’s economy as newly trained professionals enter the workforce.”
