After graduating from the Early Childhood program at Guelph-Humber I began working as a Faculty Support Officer. I now work at Humber College as the Senior Support Services Officer, where I manage the SSCS events. My experience at both schools can best be described in one word… growth. From the time when I was a student to now my journey of growth has been outstanding. I love being part of the Humber and Guelph-Humber community!

At Humber, I found more than a job or a career. I knew from the start that this was the place for me.  I found a group of like-minded individuals who have become like a second family to me.  Every day when I come to work I get to support students as they embark on their respective paths, as well as faculty and staff committed to striving for excellence in education.  I am truly blessed to work at Humber College.

What a fantastic place to work! I absolutely love the people I work with; they all make my job worthwhile. The culture here is warm and welcoming and decisions are always carefully considered. I found my spot at Humber by exploring my strengths in workshops and professional development opportunities. Once you build a network at Humber, you get to know people that have your best interest in mind, who encourage you to grow, learn, and stretch beyond your comfort zone.

The strong leadership, close-knit working environment, and commitment to values at the SSCS have enabled me to support student learning and research opportunities in a meaningful and impactful way. The professional growth and breadth of experience I’ve enjoyed in my role at Humber has been extremely fulfilling at this stage of my career journey.
Chris Rugo
Experiential Learning Facilitator
As a graduate of Humber College, and now an employee, I’ve been fortunate to experience the institution from both sides. It has been an amazing journey getting to know persons within the community and building very meaningful relationships along the way. Any great institution is reflective of the people and values it supports and Humber is comprised of a very diverse group of remarkable students and staff from all walks of life who truly make it a place to call home.

My name is Kaitlin Phillips and I am the Aboriginal Student Support Advisor at the Aboriginal Resource Centre. Every day I work to ensure that our Indigenous students are supported and connected to their learning environment – academically, culturally and socially. Humber is making great strides in creating awareness of Indigenous culture throughout all campuses, and I appreciate seeing my heritage reflected in where I work.

I have been working at the Humber North Campus since 2016 as a full-time Library Technician at the University of Guelph-Humber library. I knew once I stepped in the door at Humber, that I would be in a supportive environment. Indeed, everyone here was warm and welcoming. The last couple of years have been a positive and rewarding experience, and I look forward to many more years here.

I love working at Humber as it is very student-focused and encourages its faculty to engage students with experiential learning projects that not only engages them but also give them the confidence to grow professionally. Humber is a place that truly resonates with me and all that I stand for as faculty, I found my spot here because Humber values innovation, equity, sustainability, well-being and courage across the board.

A dependable sign of whether a professional culture is positive or not, is if you dread going into the office. I have worked at the University of Guelph-Humber since 2013, and I can unequivocally say I have looked forward to every single day. Each day, Guelph-Humber focuses on students’ academic and personal success, and if you are looking for a career that contributes to that success and is also an amazing place to work, Guelph-Humber might just be the place for you!
