This certificate is designed for registered nurses (RNs) employed in intensive care, coronary care, neuro-intensive care or post-anesthetic units and/or seeking to advance their practice in critical care nursing. You will learn nursing assessment; evidence-informed nursing interventions; and how to develop collaborative and consultative partnerships with critical care clients, their support systems and other health-care practitioners. You will also develop high-level critical thinking, care planning, leadership and professional practice skills.

This certificate is based on the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) competencies for critical care nurses and completion of the certificate academically prepares the student for the Critical Care Certification Exam.
