Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate Program

The Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification program is offered in partnership with the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA). This program prepares payroll practitioners to manage the compliance requirements of an organization's annual payroll cycle, deliver clear and reliable payroll information, and contribute a payroll perspective to organizational policy and strategy discussions. When you become certified, you join a growing community of supportive profession​​als and gain access to the resources you need to stay current and compliant.

Certificate Criteria: 3 compulsory courses, 1 elective

PMCP 210 Payroll Fundamentals 1
PMCP 212 Payroll Fundamentals 2

Compulsory courses can only be taken one at a time and must be taken in sequence. Courses are in a blended format. Students are required to have access to a computer and the internet.

Registration

In addition to registration and payment of tuition to Humber College, students must register and pay a materials fee to the CPA for each course. Registration forms, complete with payment, must be submitted to Canadian Payroll Association no later than two weeks prior to the course start date in order to ensure timely delivery of printed course material. Printed course material will be shipped to you. An invitation email will be sent to you to access the LMS platform. For more information visit payroll.ca or email certification@payroll.ca

PCP Certification Requirements

  • three compulsory courses and one elective
  • one year Work Experience Requirement Application (WERA). For more information visit payroll.ca.

All courses and electives require a passing grade of 65% in order to be accepted towards the PCP certification. Prior to receiving certification from the Canadian Payroll Association, students must have at least one year of work experience. Part-time students can obtain the work experience requirement within five years before or five years after the start date of their first successful attempt at the Payroll Compliance Legislation course.

Two-part registration

PMCP 211: Register with Humber, pay the course fee and then register with the CPA and pay the curse fee plus the one-year membership 
($424+ $340 + $99 = $863)

PMCP 210: Register with Humber, pay the course fee and then register with the CPA and pay the course fee ($424 + $340 = $764)

PMCP 212: Register with Humber, pay the course fee and then register with the CPA and pay the course fee ($424 + $340 = $764)

Elective: Range: $350-$500
