Occupational Health and Safety

Certificate of Achievement

Program Code: OHD1

Online

Humber's Occupational Health and Safety certificate program prepares students for employment in the field of occupational health and safety. Employers value health and safety staff who are knowledgeable, meeting requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and associated regulations, and who can minimize the high costs associated with accidents, injuries and environmental compliance while contributing to  the company’s bottom line. The program focuses on protecting the safety, health and welfare of people engaged in work while fostering a culture of safety for the benefit of employees as well as the employer.

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) accepts this credential as one of the educational requirements for eligibility for Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) certification.

This program also fulfills, in part, the requirements of the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification. Individual courses may also be eligible for CRSP professional development credit (Factor 2).

Note: please visit BCRSP's website at the bcrsp.ca for detailed eligibility requirements for the CRST and CRSP certifications.
