Empowering Your Words for Success - The Art of Effective Communications Workshop

Description: The purpose is to teach effective verbal communication skills so CfE members can create highly functional relationships with others in group settings. 3 topics discussed: Orientation, Negotiation, and Building Rapport. Business Modelling in Excel Workshop (offered both at Lakeshore and North Campuses)

Description: Workshop will help our students build a very powerful tool (excel) that can be used to gain a competitive advantage in their class work and future careers. This workshop is specifically designed for ANYONE who wants to learn how to build a working business model and perform any sort of projections. The focus is on building a business model in real time with the students. This workshop DOES NOT require an extensive knowledge of excel, finance, accounting or computer programming. The facilitator will make it simple to understand and easy to build.

Light refreshments will be provided.

  • How to properly build assumptions and size a market,
  • Calculation of attrition rates
  • Pricing strategy
  • Analyzing marketing spend
  • Revenue and cost sensitivity analysis

Productivity Workshop

Description: Through this interactive workshop, participants will be provided with a framework modelled to enhance your productivity through understanding how your mind works, and taking action against limiting thought processes.

Topics to be discussed:

  • How the mind works (conscious vs subconscious mind, and their interplay with your overall results)
  • How to eradicate limiting beliefs (strengthen self image)
  • How to pitch your company/service or self
  • How to effectively influence
  • How to effectively network
  • How to beat procrastination
  • How to override current neural pathway patterns (critical for changing habits)
  • Mapping out the GAME PLAN with a 6 STEP SYSTEM
  • Techniques on how to get leverage over ourselves for follow through

Intended Outcomes of the Session:

  • You will have a greater sense of clarity of the direction you want to take for your business or career
  • You will have a framework you can use to brainstorm, deduce and prioritize day to day decisions that will ultimately lead them to their goals

Leadership Lessons that Matter (workshop 1)

Description: In today’s business environment, there is a strong reason for organizations to invest in leadership development.  Research shows that millennials in just a few short years will be the leaders of the future and they need to be equipped to move the companies forward.  Harvard Business Review found that only 7% of companies have accelerated leadership programs to nurture them.

How do you define leadership? What are the principles of leadership that matter?  How does one become a successful leader? This workshop will engage participants in a discussion about what leadership lessons can teach us and why it matters.  Learning leaders understand how leadership has changed and the benefits to effective leadership.

The workshop will be an interactive experience giving participants the opportunity to contribute and build on their understanding of leadership.  Real life stories and insights from successful leaders will be included and serve as a catalyst for participants to decide on what kind of leader they want to be.

Understanding the Entrepreneurial Leadership Mindset (workshop 2)

Description: Today’s leader needs more than position, power and business acumen as they address choice, power and speed.  They work in a world that is volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA).  What are the elements of an entrepreneurial mindset?  What actions are needed to thrive in a VUCA world? What do entrepreneurial leaders believe? How do they achieve their goals? What are their top strengths?  What leadership actions increase the likelihood of success?

This workshop unpacks many of the challenges and above questions that leaders face in an entrepreneurial world and equips participants with a developed understanding of the behaviours and thinking that are required to succeed.

This accelerated leadership training will explore the core questions.  Ideas, insights, strategies and tools will be shared for the tomorrow leader who is here now.  The interactive workshop will immerse participants in the subject matter and lead them to important insights and learn informed by collaboration, and provocative thinking.
