You are enrolled in a part-time degree, diploma, or certificate program (at least 12 weeks long within a period of 15 weeks in a row) at a designated post-secondary institution
You apply and qualify for part-time student financial assistance
You have successfully completed all courses for which you previously received a grant
You and your spouse or common-law partner have a low family income as defined by the Canada Student Loan Program
This grant is addition to any grant you receive under the Canada Student Grant for Part-Time Studies. You could receive a maximum of $40 per week of study if you have 1 or 2 dependants; a maximum of $60 per week of study if you have 3 or more dependants; or, up to a maximum of $1,920 per school year.

You have been laid off and have not been working; or you have been laid off and are working a temporary job just to cover costs. Must demonstrate the following:

A scholarship is presented to a mature student from an at-risk neighbourhood in Toronto that has overcome adversity to pursue their educational goals. Criteria may include any or all of academic achievement, performance/portfolio competition, essay competition and references, as selected by the scholarship committee. This scholarship is open to mature students from city-designated at-risk neighbourhoods in Toronto, who are entering for the first time any Humber postsecondary program. The successful recipient must demonstrate financial need and how they are working to overcome obstacles in the pursuit of their educational goals.

The student must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary Canadian institute. Student must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, must have worked at least 12 hours for each of the previous 4 weeks at the time of applying, be a residential parent of a minor child, be a legal resident of Canada, and must be at least 18 years of age at the time of applying. Applicants need to write a 600-1000 word essay about balancing school, work and being a parent and also fill out the application form.
