, he works with organizations to support their effective exploitation of new technologies. He is the creator and director of the University of Waterloo’s online certificate programs in Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Social Media for Business Performance and Project Leadership.
His research includes the development of a research institute in supply chain collaboration, large scale surveys of information technology management and project management and the creation of an archive of 1,400 case studies in the whole enterprise use of social media. He has worked extensively with online learning technologies, including establishing the world’s first online executive MBA and on the application of information technology in humanitarian development. Lucy La Grassa has over 20 years of experience in the workplace and in the classroom. She has designed and delivered hundreds of courses in business communications, clear writing, two-minute briefings, issues management, writing
business cases, writing reports, stakeholder and public engagement, reputation management, media training and coaching, speechwriting and more. Lucy La Grassa is a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) and a Marketing Certified Consultant.
She has a BA in Journalism, a double MA in Transformational Education and Organizational Development (Leadership) and a PhD in Leadership Ethics. She is a Chair for The Executive Committee (TEC Canada) working with CEOs to grow their businesses and grow as leaders. Lucy is a member of the Project Management Institute, Institute for Performance and Learning, International Association of Business Communicators, Canadian Public Relations Society and a former member of the Women Presidents’ Organization.
Lucy was a speech writer, public relations officer, communications advisor and Assistant Director of Communications in the Ontario government. She was part of the team recruited to launch the Ontario Women’s Directorate where she did qualitative and quantitative media analysis. Lucy was part of the award-winning “Break the Silence” campaign; the lead in the “Life is Precious” campaign; designed the “No Excuses” campaign to launch mandatory child support payments; “The Prism Awards” and The Kids Netword Training Program, to train children to become professional writers; “Our Sacred Trust” program, to source and train the next generation of Indigenous leaders; “The Victory Program,” commissioned by the Institute for the Prevention of Child Abuse as a communication tool for disclosure; and “The Deaf Illustrator Awards/The Deaf Literature Awards. Lucy co-founded zeeBigBang Corp., a web-based commercial hub for people and companies in arts and entertainment. She is the former president of Formidable Technologies Inc., where she helped companies transition to the efficiencies of leading-edge cloud computing technologies.
