Managerial accounting builds on financial accounting concepts. As opposed to financial accounting, of which the goal is the construction and reporting of financial statements, managerial accounting challenges students to interrelate and interconnect managerial accounting topics with the ultimate purpose of better decision-making. This course attempts to present links among managerial accounting concepts that form the body of managerial accounting knowledge. The course emphasizes the use of organizational information to assist in the management of various functions within the organization, including the human resources unit. The focus will be on performance measurement.
