Physical Theatre Fundamentals course explores the basics of physical theatre, focusing on the body's movement, deep breathing, and impulse work. Students will gain a better understanding of themselves, their physical instrument, and spatial relationships, along with initial character work and group creation. Using various techniques, including those from renowned practitioners like Jerzy Grotowski and Jacques Lecoq, the course aims to build a strong body connection, authentic responses, and control of voice and movement. Through physical exercises, improvisation, and thoughtful performance practice, students will enhance their observation skills, impulse control, and critical thinking. The course emphasizes teamwork, experimentation, safe risk-taking, and effective communication.
