Course Code: ANAT 1009
Academic Year: 2025-2026
This human anatomy and physiology course is designed for students registered in Humber's BScN second entry prep semester. A systematic approach will be adopted to explore the entire human body, examining the structure of all major body systems and how they are interconnected. Each week, students will investigate a different system of the body through engaging lectures, immersive laboratories and interactive activities. The objective of this course is to establish a comprehensive understanding of both the structures and functions of the body and to provide the necessary foundation for later studies in human health and disease. Topics covered in the course include histology, fluid-electrolyte balance, electrophysiology, and the anatomy and physiology of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems.
