This course provides a thorough practical understanding of modern industrial networks. Topics of study include: principles of operation, network device specifications, configurations, cabling/media and programming. The laboratory work provides practical experience in the initial setup, configuration and troubleshooting of industrial networks. The student will learn to install and configure networked devices. The student will also design PLC programs to access data and control devices remotely over industrial networks. The DH-485, DH+, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET networks are covered.
