Course Code: ATMN 360
Academic Year: 2025-2026
This course presents the principles of advanced robotic systems and their instrumentations emphasizing practical applications. Basic principles of robot navigation systems including perception, error propagation, localization, and path planning are presented. Typical sensor types including position and force sensors, tactile sensing, computer vision and image processing, are reviewed. Different areas of computer vision including camera models, image representation, and application of vision systems will be presented. A series of laboratory assignments in the Advanced Robotics Laboratory will enrich the practical aspects of the course, where students learn to program different collaborative robots and learn their various elements, such as 3D sensors and autonomous motion module.
