Course Code: BDES 1003
Academic Year: 2025-2026
Students develop perspectives on the social and personal impact of design while exploring the fundamental elements and principles of design practice. Students are challenged to explore, analyze and apply the elements and principles of visual design in various contexts, to help them develop awareness of design in the digital and built world. Theoretical and psychological perspectives of human computer interaction (e.g. affordances, framing, reciprocity) are explained and applied in the context of persuasive design and behavioral economics. In addition, established usability heuristics are studied, and used as a means to identify and correct usability issues in designed products.
