Critical Making and Experience Prototyping

Course Code: BDES 3001

Academic Year: 2025-2026

This course builds on the research, design, and narrative skills of students, and applies these to a business or organization in an exploratory studio project. Students use generative research approaches to identify problem areas and new opportunities for digital experiences that can benefit their client, and their users. Students are encouraged to use blended digital and physical computing solutions in their project work, integrating software and hardware to create new business innovations. This could include basic electronics prototyping (e.g. Arduino), sensors, actuators, soft circuits, wearables, alternative fabrication methods, creative code explorations or other physical/digital prototypes.
