This course is meant to assist students in preparing for their own personal financial future and/or support their own small business budgeting process. Students will become familiar with up-to-date personal finance concepts. They will learn about personal budgeting, payment tools (credit and debit cards) savings, borrowing including credit cards, loans/lines of credit and mortgages. They will also learn about investments concepts including mutual funds, bonds, and straightforward equity products. Additional key concepts will include insurance and basic tax planning tools. Upon successful completion students will be able to apply best practices in savings, budgeting, borrowing and constructing their own personal financial statement.
