Research and Writing in Health Sciences lays a foundation for students to locate, understand, and communicate health science information from scholarly sources. Using first and second generation research publications on a plethora of topics within health sciences, students develop essential skills such as critical reading, knowledge synthesis, and the creation of concise, direct, and focused written communications. Various student-centered learning opportunities allow students to work with the instructor, their classmates, and independently to practice academic reading and writing skills that are built on in subsequent courses.
