This course, preceded by Canadian Investment Securities 1, is meant to assist students in preparing for investment and/or financial planning careers in the financial services industry. On completion of the BMFS Program, students will qualify to challenge the Chartered Financial Planner licensing exam and will be prepared to challenge the exams leading to the Life Insurance and Canadian Securities licenses. In this second course, students will build on their knowledge of financing alternatives and examine financing instruments from an investor's perspective. They will analyze and compare commonly available investment products and their features. They will further examine financial markets and their regulatory structures. Students will also study taxation implications for investors and will look into portfolio management.
