Course Code: BPGM 251
Academic Year: 2025-2026
The objective of the course is to enhance students' understanding of the economic concepts and forces that impact their lives and work. Another goal of the course is to develop students' analytical and critical thinking as well as communication skills. The study of macroeconomics explains aggregate economic forces, such as unemployment, inflation, sustainable growth and development, money creation and international trade. Students are exposed to major economic institutions, such as the Central Banks, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization and United Nations Development Program. In addition, the course has an aim to facilitate discussion in a classroom setting. Please note that this is an introductory course. Therefore, students are not required to have any prior familiarity with macroeconomic concepts - just a thirst for knowledge around what such conversations entail.
