This foundation course in Human Resource Management provides an overview of the human resource function as it relates to an organization's goals and strategic objectives. It examines the issues of human resource management and its various functions, activities and processes. Students will examine human resources policies, procedures and programs in small and large organizations, as well as specialized functions including staff planning, recruitment, selection, compensation, training, performance management and appraisal, health and safety, employee relations and labour relations.
