This course will provide students with a basic knowledge of the marketing process which includes the understanding of the marketing environment, population demographics, target market and segments, behavior response and competitive positioning. The marketing mix of the four Ps - product, place, price, and promotion - are explored in both the generic concept of marketing and specifically of services marketing, which is essential to the spa industry. Branding, logo development, advertising and promotions are emphasized from an entrepreneurial and spa ownership perspective, culminating in the creation of marketing collateral by students.
