Advertising Studio 2 is a linked workshop class that builds on the experience students have gained in Advertising Studio 1. This course gives students further opportunity to put into practice the knowledge and skills they have learned to date, integrating them into processes and techniques consistent with contemporary advertising industry practices. This course refines and develops techniques of strategy development, ideation and group brainstorming, as well as industry-standard processes of iterating towards effective final executions. Students will work in industry-standard teams (art director, copywriter, account manager/strategist) to conceive and produce effective advertising campaigns, executed for an appropriate media mix, to meet client objectives. Students will be expected to function in a dynamic environment that replicates the demands and expectations of the advertising industry. The course has the additional goal of helping the students develop their professional image (e.g. portfolio, website development) in anticipation of internship applications.
