Water Supply Operations

Water Supply Operations is the Ontario Ministry of Environment's entry level course for drinking water operators. Students engage in an intensive program of self-study and classroom training designed to ensure a basic knowledge of drinking water operation including treatment, supply and distribution of potable water. This course is mandatory for all operators in training (OITs) in Ontario. Students that earn over 70% on the final test get a certificate for completing the Entry Level Operator course and are eligible to apply for their OIT certificate, which allows new operators to gain the one-year experience required to become a Class 1 operator.
