Intervention and Case Management builds on the fundamental elements of CJS153 Interviewing Skills. In this intermediate course, students will be introduced to various higher learning applied skills that will enable them to implement self-care strategies while using self-awareness to facilitate helping and manage interpersonal interactions professionally, ethically and safely. This will be demonstrated in a variety of contexts and roles, using a social justice and critical theory framework. Emphasis will be placed on trauma informed experiential exercises and lab-type activities, that will prepare students to participate in individual and group interventions, manage crisis situations, effectively review and encourage client progress, complete assessments, and case planning.
