This course addresses the challenging role of the retail buyer. More specifically, it recognizes the necessary tasks that buyers must follow in order to purchase cosmetic/beauty products according to a set merchandise plan. The course further examines how buyers plan assortments, open to buy and negotiate terms of business in order to create profitable retail results. Students will be given specific skillsets which will enable them to pursue an entry-level position in a retail buying field. A fundamental understanding of cosmetic buying will give students a broader knowledge base enabling students to excel in other areas of the industry.
