Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of IT resources that offers organizations agility, elasticity, scalability and flexibility. This course will describe the cloud security architecture and explore the security design principles, design patterns, industry standards, applied technologies and addressing regulatory compliance requirements that are critical to design, implement, deliver and manage secure cloud-based services. Students will focus on identifying and mitigating risks, data protection, identity management and access control as well as the protection of physical and logical infrastructures such as computing, network and storage. Other topics covered include monitoring and auditing processes and meeting compliance with industry and regulatory mandates. The course will leverage cloud computing security guidelines set forth by ISO, NIST and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). The material is reinforced through hands-on labs through out the course.
