The field of social sciences encourages dynamic and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding human behaviour, relationships, and functions of modern institutions. Utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, this course encourages students to review and interact with diverse research projects related to the fields of psychology, criminology, sociology, policy studies, and law. This applied learning focuses on the development and analysis of contemporary research, presenting informed evidence, discussing social problems, examining the deployment of research to outside agencies, and evaluating ethical practices useful for future employment within the criminal justice sector. Students will further develop leadership and time management skills, as foundational tools for their final thesis course.
