This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental professional and personal skills essential for Child and Youth Care Practitioners (CYCPs). Students will gain a solid foundation in core skills required in the field, with a specific emphasis on advocacy and professional writing. The course focuses on ethical practice, building professional relationships, the creation of safer (Safe) spaces, developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and problem solving. An important objective for this course is for the student to begin to assess, develop and evaluate goals regarding their own personal and professional growth using reflective learning.
