This course builds on the Design Fundamentals course, allowing students to delve further into graphic design techniques, history, and trends. Using industry-standard software to create projects that simulate real-world applications, students learn to effectively and professionally convey their messages. In a lab setting, students produce design assets for professional purposes with considerations of ethics and accessibility. Advanced topics may include type design, e-book production, style guide development, design systems, and working with clients, among other subjects.
