This second in the sequence of video production courses emphasizes producing and editing video and sound for multimedia or web productions. Students critically analyze live-action and animated video, discussing technical and aesthetic considerations. They apply their analyses to the capturing, editing and outputting of video using a desktop digital video workstation. The projects produced in the last class will be used for non-linear editing and sound design. Students consider the transformative effects of user-produced video platforms, such as YouTube and Vimeo. Students finish off their projects by using Adobe After Effects for creating video compositing and motion graphics.
