This course offers a practice-based introduction to working with graphic design elements (including colour, shape, layout, typography, image, and grids) and qualities (such as rhythm, contrast, balance, negative space, and depth). Students develop a solid visual design foundation through an overview and discussion of exemplary design and opportunities to practice making a variety of projects using industry-standard design software. Topics may include producing design assets for professional purposes, accessibility, ethical production, using digital images, and working with clients.
