Students integrate theory and practice by working with a resource professional/consultant or interdisciplinary professionals in settings which provide services to individuals, birth to emerging adulthood, with special needs and/or their families. Students observe and analyze the role of the resource professional, consultant or related role in the community. Students work as team members to assess and program for children and adults with special needs and their families. Students learn to work closely with families, interprofessional teams and the community to develop plans and to facilitate the process of inclusion.
