This introductory course combines engineering graphics with basic multimedia design tools to provide students with a first exposure to principles of product design. The purpose is to introduce the student to designing hardware/software products, as designed in modern industry. Students will learn about the fundamentals of electronic design and technology development. Students will be exposed to widely adopted and powerful 2D/3D drawing/design tools, as well as software web-design tools. The project running throughout the course is a product that has both a hardware and a software component. Students build an understanding of user experience, ergonomics and other factors that lead to successful commercial products.
