This course provides an overview of policies and programs designed to promote energy conservation and energy efficiency, green building and urban development practices and the implementation of renewable technologies. Learners will examine processes of policy development and legislation and the impact of policies and incentive programs. In addition, learners will examine federal, provincial and municipal levels of responsibility; agencies, procedures and requirements associated with obtaining building and energy development permits in Ontario.
