This course prepares students for their work-integrated learning courses and future careers by familiarizing students with the employment landscape and opportunities which exist in the health and fitness industry, including self-employment. Students will explore the job market and learn about the health and fitness industry through guest speakers, informational interviews and site visits. Topics include job search strategies, resume and cover letter preparation, professionalism, entrepreneurship, time management, interview techniques, legal consideration, setting up a company, marketing skills, prospecting plans and sales considerations.
