This course will introduce students to the creative processes, procedures and communication standards used in developing the physical and digital environments that are key components of storytelling for screen-based media applications. Students will analyze narrative frameworks and/or scripts, conduct visual research techniques and implement research to create industry standard presentation materials which support their design concepts. Students, working both collaboratively and individually, will also explore a variety of practical skills such as free-hand sketching, an introduction to orthographic and perspective drawings, working in scale, model building, budgeting and legal clearances specific to an art department.
