This advanced Cinematography course explores both the technical and artistic practices of contemporary cinematography with an emphasis on narrative and commercial filmmaking. Classes consist of hands-on workshops and industry offsite's where students refine their skills in all areas of cinematography including the role of a Director of Photography in post-production as well as emerging technologies in filmmaking. Special emphasis is placed on developing a professional attitude toward work, fellow members of a production crew, and the ability to produce high quality images under a variety of circumstances. Learning takes place in both the classroom and on major productions with the Professor providing guidance throughout the semester.
