In this second half of the course, students will continue to study the business of transmedia broadcasting to gain a practical understanding of how it works, in Canada and globally. Students will continue to fine-tune the development of their series ideas through additional pitching opportunities, writing a series bible and developing insight on various distribution and web festival opportunities. By researching potential markets, networks, internet channels, broadcasters, narrowcasters, television markets, producers for television and convergent media companies, students will formulate a strategy to move their projects further through the development process and potentially into the market. They will gain a greater understanding of regulatory bodies, distribution channels, audience measurement, marketplace funding and advertising and how all of these affect programming choices.
