This course provides a foundational exploration of cinematography as both a technical craft and a visual art form. Students will examine the core principles of camera operation, composition, and visual storytelling, gaining hands-on experience with digital cinema cameras and lenses. Through lectures, screenings, and practical exercises, students will develop an understanding of how cinematographic choices impact mood, narrative, and audience perception. Emphasis is placed on visual literacy, collaborative set practices, and the creative role of the cinematographer in the filmmaking process.
